MAJOR ASPECTS
Aspects are
the angles by degree that a planet or a point makes to another planet or a
point. By degree or aspect lies the meaning of the relationship of the two or
more points or planets.
CONJUNCTION

0`
CONJUNCTION TWO PLANETS
NEXT TO EACH OTHER. ORB OF 8` (OR 10` WITH THE SUN OR MOON INVOLVED.
A
conjunction is the most powerful aspect in astrology. It generally has a
beneficial influence, although it depends on the planets involved, and the
aspects to the planets in the conjunction. A difficult aspect will be increased
by it. The two planets involved are highly influenced and are a key focal point
in the chart. The vibration is arian or first house influence, or the meaning
of merging of oneness. This is the influence of the one, and to the positive
this can be a wholeness.
SEXTILE

60` SEXTILE
TWO PLANETS 60` APART. ORB OF 6`.
A sextile is
considered benefic and favorable. It brings opportunity, however one must work
for this influence. The vibration is gemini or aquarian or third and eleventh
house influences, or the meaning of using the intellect. This is the division
of the chart by six, and has a need to work or serve connotation in order to
gain the benefits of it.
SQUARE

90`SQUARE
TWO PLANETS 90` APART. ORB OF 8` (OR 10` WHEN SUN
AND MOON ARE INVOLVED).
A square is challenging and stressful. The key to the
square is that it teaches lessons of life, and puts up obstacles for us to
overcome. This is where one needs to develop strength of character and drive by
working through the influence. This has a cancerian/capricorn or fourth/tenth
house influence, or cardinal energy to drive through the difficulty. It is a
division by four, and needs to be acted upon.
TRINE

120` TRINE
TWO PLANETS 120` APART. ORB OF 8` (OR 10` WHEN SUN
AND MOON ARE INVOLVED).
A trine this is the easiest aspect. This is the aspect
of luck or comfort, bringing benefits to the two planets. Positiveness. Falling
back on the trines can create weakness and laziness, though. This has an
aries-first house -leo/sagittarius or fifth/ninth influence, or luck, comfort
and optimism. This is a division of three of the horoscope.
OPPOSITION

180` OPPOSITION
TWO PLANETS 180` APART. ORB OF 8` (OR 10` WHEN SUN
AND MOON ARE INVOLVED).
An opposition is a stressful aspect. This is the aspect
where we feel pulled in different directions and separate. Difficulty that
needs to be brought into balance and harmony in order to gain the true
understanding of both planets. This is a challenging aspect, like the square.
This has an aries/libra or first/seventh house influence, and is a division of
two of the horoscope.
