MAJOR ASPECTS

Aspects are the angles by degree that a planet or a point makes to another planet or a point. By degree or aspect lies the meaning of the relationship of the two or more points or planets.

CONJUNCTION

A conjunction is the most powerful aspect in astrology. It generally has a beneficial influence, although it depends on the planets involved, and the aspects to the planets in the conjunction. A difficult aspect will be increased by it. The two planets involved are highly influenced and are a key focal point in the chart. The vibration is arian or first house influence, or the meaning of merging of oneness. This is the influence of the one, and to the positive this can be a wholeness.

SEXTILE

A sextile is considered benefic and favorable. It brings opportunity, however one must work for this influence. The vibration is gemini or aquarian or third and eleventh house influences, or the meaning of using the intellect. This is the division of the chart by six, and has a need to work or serve connotation in order to gain the benefits of it.

SQUARE

A square is challenging and stressful. The key to the square is that it teaches lessons of life, and puts up obstacles for us to overcome. This is where one needs to develop strength of character and drive by working through the influence. This has a cancerian/capricorn or fourth/tenth house influence, or cardinal energy to drive through the difficulty. It is a division by four, and needs to be acted upon.

TRINE

A trine this is the easiest aspect. This is the aspect of luck or comfort, bringing benefits to the two planets. Positiveness. Falling back on the trines can create weakness and laziness, though. This has an aries-first house -leo/sagittarius or fifth/ninth influence, or luck, comfort and optimism. This is a division of three of the horoscope.

OPPOSITION

An opposition is a stressful aspect. This is the aspect where we feel pulled in different directions and separate. Difficulty that needs to be brought into balance and harmony in order to gain the true understanding of both planets. This is a challenging aspect, like the square. This has an aries/libra or first/seventh house influence, and is a division of two of the horoscope.
